Having implemented Quickbase in various industries, I have significant experience evaluating this platform and overall experience continues to be a positive one given the platform's ease of use and adaptability. One project was a custom CRM developed for a mid-sized sales team. The intuitive user interface allowed me to build custom dashboards and workflows quickly without any coding knowledge, which drastically reduced the development time.
Another ability that I have witnessed is their ability to be adaptive and customize. When I worked with a manufacturing client, I was able to build applications for real-time inventory tracking that was instantaneous and integrated seamlessly into their existing processes and led the client to be able to make timely and informed decisions that enhanced productivity.
However, much like most platforms, I did experience some limitations, mainly with regards to advanced JavaScript functionality. For example, during an automation project with an e-commerce company, I found myself creating custom code pages rather than going through the standard formula URL buttons for specific tasks that could not be preformed otherwise. Although there were some complexities to manage, which did slightly slow down the deployment, it was not a barrier.
Another downside is that data entry can be somewhat tedious, especially when updating or editing multiple records at a time and there is a multi-step approach. I worked on a full HR management application and users mentioned the extra dissatisfaction with the amount of work required in a multi-step process for general data updates.
Overall, I see Quickbase has a better advantage with rapid application development and improved collaboration over just the negative aspects mentioned. I have always received detailed feedback about error messages and it has assisted me in debugging, and managing customer satisfaction has always been really high in the projects I engaged. Quickbase is a great fit for teams that seek agility without heavy reliance on IT.

I am currently learning CRM and how to manage relationships and solicit new jobs through Quickbase. This software is a convenient tool for locating both old and new clients and assists me in tracking my numbers, including goals, invoicing, and pipeline. The program is highly organized, enabling me to multitask and manage over 150 projects. It allows me to set dates that generate reminders for crucial project deadlines, follow up on quotes awaiting approval, and check on order status. However, there are numerous columns on the job page that do not appear on the quote, which are essential for the customer to read, such as UOM. This means I have to be detailed in the description instead of relying on the unit of measurement column.

Troublesome Experience with a Company Supposed to Support Your Success
Initially, I was quite satisfied with Quickbase. However, after about a year, my satisfaction decreased. I would recommend others to invest a bit more and choose Salesforce, which we have switched to and found greatly beneficial. Quickbase is essentially an Excel sheet on steroids, requiring multiple steps to save, add, or edit an app page. You have to click "Edit", input your data, and then click "Save". Dealing with the "premier" or platinum users can be frustrating as they often respond dismissively. Once you've transferred your database into Quickbase, they rely on you not wanting to deal with the inconvenience of moving it out. I chose Quickbase thinking it would provide the same quality for a lower price, but I was mistaken.
